The Garda School Experience
At The Garda School, boys and girls in Grades 4 to 9 have the opportunity to study in English while growing up in one of Italy’s most beautiful lakeside towns. We believe in the powerful blends of strong academics with caring teachers and hands-on experiences to spark curiosity, build confidence, and help every student feel supported as they grow.
A typical day at starts with a walk along the lungolago, where students often meet each other on the way in. In the sunny piazza, teachers are there to greet everyone with a warm smile before heading up to our classrooms. The rooms are cozy and well-equipped, with 75-inch smartboards and windows looking out across Lake Garda.
Inside, classes are filled with curiosity and a genuine sense of community
Small groups of international students learn together in an environment where kindness and support are the norm, and everyone feels welcome.
Guided by expert teachers, lessons are dynamic and personal—sometimes a hands-on project, sometimes a lively discussion that sparks new ideas. Learning isn’t limited to the classroom either: it might be a lecture under the trees in the park, or a short hike followed by journaling and reflection.
With this mix of structure, creativity, and friendship, the day feels full and engaging, without ever feeling routine.
On Tuesdays, the rhythm of the town becomes part of our learning.
Market day fills the streets with colours, scents, and sounds, creating the perfect backdrop for a language class or a life-skills workshop on budgeting and meal planning.
When it’s time for lunch, we gather around the table like family.
Some days it’s student-made food enjoyed in school, and other times we share a meal at a nearby restaurant or mensa—where there’s always a chance to catch up with friends before the afternoon begins.
By the end of the day, students leave with more than just completed lessons—they leave with experiences, skills, and connections that make school life here both meaningful and memorable.
